Cleaning fluids
Cheap white vinegar diluted 50/50 with water and put in a spray bottle will clean almost anything. And if it is heated a little it will even work wonders in your oven if you leave it to soak in for a bit. My old cleaning lady, Eda, used this and thin bleach for nearly all of her cleaning. She also used all our old toothbrushes for getting into awkward places like around taps. - Eda

We have a wood burning stove and are getting another. They are the most economical way to heat your house, the wood is grown locally, so there is a low carbon footprint, and it is cheap. You can get various options - just the stove, stove with back boiler to heat water, stove with bigger boiler to heat water and a few radiators.
